Out and About: Hot Air Ballooning in Bath
Last bank holiday weekend Bill, our CEO, went to the historic City of Bath to embark on a Phileas Fogg style adventure aboard a hot air balloon. Let’s see how he got on… “What a way to spend a romantic weekend in Bath. We decided to celebrate by picking one our top items in our ‘bucket list’, a hot air balloon ride for 2 from the middle of Bath. We stayed at The Queensberry Hotel, which has to be one of the most beautiful hotels in Bath. It has a slightly eccentric layout but is definitely relaxed with an astonishing attention to detail – it’s the perfect boutique hotel from…

Out and About: Ghost Hunting Experience in Gloucestershire
“Expect the unexpected” we were told after volunteering as potential ghost busters on a Red Letter Days overnight ghost hunting experience. With a long drive ahead to Woodchester Mansion in Gloucestershire, we discussed our views on ghost hunting on the way: Ali, a convert already; Issy, not convinced. What could possibly go wrong? Ali takes up the story on arrival: “The gate is padlocked with a four number combination. I try the year, I try the area dialling code, I try my birthday. Nothing happens. We are locked out. How to open the gate that gets you into the mansion grounds? (the first of many questions to present themselves as…

Out and About: Thames Dinner Cruise
Shuhena and Genevieve from Red Letter Days’ Bookings Team were lucky enough to sample one of our own dining experiences recently in the form of a Thames Dinner Cruise. They went down to Embankment where they boarded a glass sided boat, glided down The Thames and saw some stunning views, including a beautifully lit up Coca-Cola London Eye as shown below in electric blue mode. “The views of the city by night are stunning. Sometimes you just don’t realise how lucky you are living in London and this experience was a perfect reminder of how great our capital is” said Shuhena. As for the food on this Thames Dinner Cruise, the girls…

Out and About: Ali’s Trip to Vietnam
We’d like to share something a little bit different with you today. One of our more adventurous colleagues is Ali Pye, who having recently returned from a holiday which saw her travel the length of Vietnam, kindly agreed to share some thoughts and pictures of her amazing trip. It all started at the beginning of the Tết Nguyên Đán national holiday. Take it away Ali… “Red Letter Days is all about doing different, doing wilder, doing more colourfully and essentially just doing (as opposed to talking about doing). Hands up who’s seen the Top Gear Vietnam special where Jeremy Clarkson snuffles as the sun sets into the China Sea from…

Out and About: Wine Tasting in East London
A few weeks ago, we sent our esteemed colleagues Lisa and Gudrun for an evening of wine tasting in East London. Wine tasting is a good experience for two friends (or a couple) to try – it’s cultured, informative, useful and most importantly lots of fun. So, over to Lisa to tell us what they got up to… “When we arrived, Gudrun and I were sat with a small group of fellow wine tasters, which was nice as it meant we could socialise a bit as we were tasting the wine – wine drinking is, after all, quite a social experience! First of all, our charming instructor introduced himself and outlined how the evening…

Out and About: A Wimbledon Tour Day with Lunch
It’s time for the second of this week’s Out and About, where one of our lucky staff members gets to flee the office for the day and try out one of our experiences for themselves. Not long ago, it was the turn of Gemma from our Online Marketing department, who willingly embarked on our Wimbledon Tour Day with Lunch. Here’s how she got on: “This has to be one of the nicest days out I have experienced since being at Red Letter Days. The tour guide was very informative, giving us lots of insight into the history and background of the tennis club and the Wimbledon tournament itself. Obviously, the tour…
