These crazy little vehicles were introduced as a cheaper way to travel and transport things in Italy after World War II.

Ever since then, they’ve been a continuous presence on the Italian roads with the ability to park almost anywhere and zip through even the narrowest of streets.

Our Ape Racing experience (pronounced aa-pay) will certainly get your heart racing – from the practise laps, to the Le Mans style start to the race (where the drivers stand at the side of the track and then run to their car when the whistle blows), to the hair-raising 90 minute race in teams.

Jon from our product department went along to see what it was all about and had this to say: “What a fantastic experience. These little things really motor and it’s a great feeling when you take the inside line and race past someone. This is racing with a difference!”
