– What made you set up Punch Foods?

I wanted to create a snack that reminds people that being healthy is not about denying yourself what you enjoy. My brand philosophy – eat real, feel real – is a celebration of eating well and feeling well, as well as celebrating deliciously good food.

– Tell us about Superseeds. What makes them different to what is out there on the market already in the health food snacks category?

I think Superseeds differentiate themselves from other healthy snacks simply due to their simplicity. Superseeds are made with high quality, natural ingredients, which are unprocessed, free from additives and 100% organic. I wanted to create a snack that was substantial and wasn’t full of sugar. So many of the bars that we see nowadays are actually high in sugar and have a negative effect on our blood sugar levels, and so Superseeds are sweetened only with a touch of coconut sugar. Eating well doesn’t have to mean a compromise on taste.

– Why do you think the use of organic ingredients is so important in Superseeds?

With nuts and seeds it’s always better to go organic, as non-organic seeds are contaminated with chemicals and pesticides and so it really does make a difference. The difference in taste is very noticeable, organic pumpkin seeds for example are so much creamier and richer in taste. With Superseeds, I wanted to make something that was the best and tasted the best, so that’s why we decided to go organic.

– What is your personal nutritional philosophy?

Nutrition should be simple. Eat real – feel real. I like to celebrate what I eat and how it makes me feel. I love cooking and I love using good quality ingredients. I generally bake without refined sugar, and avoid processed foods. That said, I don’t think there is any point in denying myself a little bit of what I feel like. I’m a firm believer that there is a time for kale and a time for peanut M&M’s.

– Food is just one component of being well. Besides healthy eating, what other wellbeing practises do you try to practise daily?

Again, I feel that wellbeing can be simple and intuitive. I meditate daily and regularly practice yoga. When I’m stressed, I do a few sun salutations or get outside for some fresh air. When I’m feeling sluggish, I book a spinning class. I make sure to walk where I can, rather than take the bus and I drink lots of water.

– What is your favourite piece of good advice you have been given?

Don’t compare yourself to others. It’s hard sometimes, but I do try and remind myself of this every single day.

Favourite recipe?

My favourite recipe changes constantly. Currently, I’m having a bit of a coconut macaroon moment.
