1. Go on a sightseeing boat cruise
The River Thames flows through most parts of London, giving locals the chance to take a break from the commotion of city life and enjoy a little bit of nature in the middle of an urban landscape. It’s also the perfect place from which to see the city’s top sights, like the Cocoa Cola London Eye and Big Ben. So, next time you find yourself close to the river, why not hop on a city cruise boat to experience London from a unique angle.
2. Treat yourself to afternoon tea
There are few things as quintessentially British as afternoon tea. And what better place than in the capital to enjoy this famous (and delicious) pastime? Yummy gourmet sandwiches, freshly baked scones and scrumptious cakes are the order of the day, topped with a pot of tea and perhaps a glass of bubbly! Now that we’ve got your mouth watering, click here to book your very own afternoon tea experience.
3. See a show in the West End
London’s West End is famous around the world for its theatre productions, and some shows have been running for many years. Add to this a bunch of impressive restaurants in the area, and you’ve got a winning combination! A definite must-try for any London newbie.
4. Go up The Shard
Nothing beats the London skyline, especially if you’re seeing it from within the tallest building in the city. The 87-floor glass skyscraper with its famous jagged peak has restaurants, bars, offices, a hotel and a spectacular viewing platform with unbeatable views of the city. Not for those with a fear of heights!
5. Check out The All England Lawn Tennis Club at Wimbledon
Every year, hundreds of tennis fanatics flock to South West London to watch their favourite tennis stars battle it out at Wimbledon. Die-hard fans, however, know that a tour of Wimbledon is the only way to really prove your love for the game. So, if you count yourself a tennis aficionado, take an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the grounds, with lunch, a visit to the museum and strawberries and champagne to finish – naturally!
