Four Reasons to Celebrate Spring

After a long, cold and wet winter, it’s easy to feel stuck in a weather rut. But signs of spring are popping up everywhere and we think it’s impossible to ignore the happiness that goes along with it.

Here are our four tell-tale signs that spring has sprung, and the best ways to celebrate it!

Flowers are coming out everywhere for spring.

Lighter, longer days

You know that feeling you get when you wake up for work one day (after a really long winter) and realise it’s no longer pitch black outside? Or, even better, when you leave work that same day and it’s still light outside? Yes, spring has definitely sprung. In celebration, why not end a long week with yummy cocktails and delectable tapas on a rooftop overlooking London? There’s seriously no better way to welcome spring than to say cheers to the (later) sunset. Read our previous blog on how to make the most of these longer and lighter days.

Lighter and longer days are a definite sign that spring has arrived.

Fresh fruit and veg

The new season brings with it a bunch of fresh produce that’s better than ever to taste and try. From juicy strawberries, to pomegranates bursting with flavour, spring certainly helps keep us healthy.

Spring brings a whole range of fresh produce for us to enjoy.

Flower power

After the grey, dullness of winter, spring brings with it an explosion of colour. Think vibrant yellow daffodils, bright tulips and trees filled with soft blossoms. Celebrate these beautiful blooms at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May, with our unique experience which includes tickets to the world-famous show, a Thames cruise and a two-course lunch for two.

 Weather woes be gone

Since the days are longer, we’re naturally getting more sunshine. More sunshine brings smiles and helps us all feel sunnier in our outlook. Make the most of it and go hot air ballooning. At a height of more than 3000 feet, you can find yourself taking in the scenes of spring in the most unique way possible, at dawn or dusk. Red Letter Days proudly has several of our own balloons flying over the UK, so keep your eyes peeled for the famous red and white logo in the sky.
