Four Scary Experiences to Spice Up Halloween
Halloween usually means pumpkin carving, trick-or-treaters and not to mention those fancy dress parties.
But if you fancy a break from the norm this year and a truly scary experience to boot, get one of these frighteningly fun activities in your diary.
1. Overnight Ghost Hunting
Ghostbusters were last found on the streets of New York in the 80’s, but it’s never too late to be a ghost hunter in London. Based under the South Bridge, this overnight experience allows you to explore one of the city’s spookiest haunts – a former execution site dating back to medieval times. From séances to vigils, the paranormal team lead you throughout the journey of finding the spirits until the early hours.
2. Zombie Battle Bunker
Whether you believe in zombies or not, they’re certainly “alive and well” in Greenwich – err, sort of – and it’s your job to fight them off! Kit yourselves out in combat gear enter the zombie war zone in a bid to destroy the evil flesh eating zombies and save the human race.
3. Harry Potter Studio Tour
If you’re a bit of a scaredy cat, but still want to celebrate the magical theme of Halloween, this studio tour of Harry Potter’s stomping grounds works a treat. Not only will it give you license to snoop behind the scenes at Hogwarts, but you’ll have full access to the costumes and props, before being whisked away to the nearby Watford Hilton hotel for a ghost-free slap up afternoon tea (with all the trimmings).
4. Jack the Ripper Walking Tour
This two-hour tour in London’s Whitechapel shows you the heart of the East End where Jack the Ripper spent his murderous days. Ideal for history buffs, not only will you hear the terrifying tales that took place in this neighbourhood, but will get a real insight into the locations of some of the capital’s most gruesome unsolved murders.
