Exhibitions and Art in London

Word has it that Noel Fielding (perhaps best known for comedy TV series The Mighty Boosh) is a bit of a multi-tasker – comedian, actor, writer, musician and DJ. To this range of skills he can add painter, since he has an art exhibition in London this month. What better opportunity to talk about art and art in London?

In fact Noel Fielding graduated from the Croydon School of Art in the mid 1990’s and has been exhibiting his work since 2008, with a number of shows held in the capital. This latest exhibition is entitled ‘He Wore Dreams Around Unkind Faces’ and free entry greets those who want to make a trip to the Royal Albert Hall in Knightsbridge on 7, 14 and 15 March.

It got us thinking about other famous people, not primarily known for but who have dabbled in and been successful with their art. A few notable names, from London and around the world include Prince Charles, Paul McCartney, Derren Brown, Ronnie Wood, Pierce Brosnan, David Bowie, Terry Gilliam, George W. Bush, Tony Curtis, Johnny Depp and Sylvester Stallone.

We were privileged to be invited to an art exhibition held by our charity partner Willow Foundation last year, raising money with their bi-annual Stars on Canvas event. Up to 300 original artworks were created and donated by a number of well-known names, then shown in public prior to an online auction which raised £76,000. A brilliant example of art in London working positively to help change lives.
