Four More Tremendous Time Travelling Films

Last Sunday the clocks went forward once again, which means longer brighter evenings and mild spring weather, hurrah!

To celebrate such a chirpy time of year, we thought we’d compile another top list of tremendous time travelling films for your viewing pleasure…

Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure

This time travelling film is such a cinematic icon, that we don’t even know why we didn’t include it in last year’s list. Anyhow, this comedy adventure starring a young Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter is a guitar-shredding, phonebox hopping epic that is still as entertaining to watch today as it was back in 1989.

Groundhog Day

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Starring the legendary Bill Murray, Groundhog Day is less of a time travelling film and more of a time looping film. After getting stuck in a blizzard that he didn’t predict, weatherman Phil gets trapped in a time warp – and is forced to live the same day over and over again, until he gets it right.

Interstellar

Somewhat of a mind bender, this cinematic masterpiece led by Michael Caine and  Matthew McConaughey orbits around a team of explorers travelling through a wormhole in a bid to save the human race from extinction. With a nail-biting plot, stellar performances and mind blowing cinematography, this film is a must watch.

Safety Not Guaranteed

This may not be the most famous (or big budget) of time travelling films, but this quirky little indie flick has achieved cult status over the past few years. Starring Mark Duplass and Aubrey Plaza, the topsy turvy misadventure follows three magazine employees as they set out on an assignment to meet a man who places a classified advert seeking a companion for time travel.

What is your favourite time travelling film?
