All New Top Gear Returns This Sunday

Whether you’re a driving fanatic or not, you will have probably heard of the show Top Gear.

After a pretty long hiatus, this most beloved of TV driving shows will return to our screens at 8pm this Sunday 29th May with brand new lead hosts Chris Evans and Friend’s star Matt Le Blanc – an interesting combo if ever there was one.

We’re revved up and ready for Sunday – and to share our excitement, here is the official trailer to help get you in the mood…

Top Gear’s official website reports that filming has taken place in 9 countries over a period of 8 months, with the 6 new presenters covering more than 7,500 miles.

Among the many eyebrow racing stunts, test drives and celebrity appearances, the show will feature world-class racing machines including the Audi R8, McLaren 675LT, Triumph Stag, the new Ford Mustang and a pair of roofless Reliant Robin three-wheelers.

Top Gear fun facts…

  • Despite getting into trouble for his motor-mouth and occasionally controversial behaviour over the years, Jeremy Clarkson has never clocked up any points on his driving licence. That’s right, Jeremy Clarkson has a clean licence!
  • Top Gear’s infamous test track, which can be found at Surrey’s Dunsfold Park, is said to be a one of the toughest driving challenges around. Believe it or not, the track wasn’t crudely designed by the lads while in the pub, it was painstakingly crafted with help from the team at Lotus.
  • The Top Gear theme music was originally written by 1970’s Jacksonville blues rockers The Allman Brothers. The show initally used part of the 7 minute long instrumental called Jessica, but has since recorded its own version.

We hope you are excited about the first episode of the show and, if you would like to experience it for yourself, we have a whole host of adrenaline-pumping Top Gear experiences for you to enjoy.
