Countdown to Christmas at Kew Gardens

Our own Ciana and Rachael were lucky enough to be invited to a special press night at Kew Gardens yesterday. They went armed with a camera so now you too can share the glittering Christmas night time trail, tunnel of lights, sparkling giant snowflakes and more.

Kew

Kew Gardens, famous the world over for having the world’s largest collection of living plants, is an internationally hugely important botanical research and education institution.

‘As twilight falls, the magic begins’ and the magic of Kew is even more special under night light. But don’t just take our word for it…

Ciana tells us “Rachael’s highlight was the glittering, shimmering Tunnel of Lights and I loved the light show on the Palm House casting snowflakes over the building.

We were both amazed by how beautiful the winter landscape looked at night. We wandered between glowing waterside reflections, illuminated fountains and grand glasshouses as Kew’s iconic architecture was brought to life to the festive music inspired by The Nutcracker”.

Rachael goes on “We kept warm with delicious mulled wine and mince pies, and toasted marshmallows on the open fire.

There was even a perfect playful area for the kids, aptly named ‘White Peaks’, complete with a Victorian carousel, helter skelter and other rides, as well as the possibility of visiting Santa in his Snowflake Grotto.

The girls summed it up “The whole evening really was a magical after dark winter experience!”

Let’s round things off with Kew’s own Christmas video to put you in the Christmas mood.
